Do you have the Pirate Wall Border on the walls in your room? If you do, you’ll be able to make up stories with your friends at story time. If you have the unframed art print and the printed rug what changes does this bring to the stories you’ve already made up?
Can you spot the new elements in the wall border that you do not see in the unframed art print and your printed rug?
If you have not already made up some stories, start thinking of some now, as you lie there on your comforter. What can you see?
I see one cannon! Can you point to it? Yes, there it is, but who is that standing next to it? It’s Gavin the Gunner? We haven’t seen him before in the unframed art print and your printed rug so what is he doing here and why is the cannon’s fuse burning? What are those things near the front of the cannon?
What do you see in front of the red Pirate Ship? It’s an anchor. Now what does that have to do with the Pirate Ship? How is that going to affect what Gavin the Gunner is doing?
What do you see behind the merchant ship and above Olive Octopus? It’s a compass. What does that have to do with the merchant ship? Where is the merchant ship going? Why will it make a stop at another island before it gets to Treasure Island?
What do you think happens to the treasure?
Isn’t it fun making up your own stories? This is very good practice for you. As you grow older you will be able to write stories of your own. If people like the stories you think up, they might ask you to write books, or plays, or movies. You might find that exciting too.
