He always finds a way to push in! Yes, that pirate shaped pillow is the evil Captain Patrick Pirate without his beloved parrot, Kitty-Kitty.
He’d like to be placed on your comforter, on your rug, in front of your pirate curtains, even your valance for that matter - anywhere in your room just to be part of your fun. But be careful. Remember that he was banished because he is so naughty and led his pirates into doing some very bad things. So wherever you put him, make sure that he cannot get you to do bad things!
Look at him there with his red beard. He always wears that captain’s hat. He doesn’t wear it to show people that he’s the captain, but to hide the fact that he is completely bald! There’s not a hair on his head.
Do you want to know why? His hair did not just fall out like some men. Captain Patrick didn’t always wear that big hat. When he was younger, his handsome head of hair would be noticed by all the ladies. But, you see, Captain Patrick usually had his African Gray parrot, Kitty-Kitty, perched on his shoulder.
If the Captain started talking with a lady who Kitty-Kitty didn’t like, the parrot would turn its beak towards the captain’s head and pluck out a hair. If the captain ignored him, he would pluck out another hair. The evil Captain Patrick liked so many different ladies that it was not long before he had no more hair.
And what about that black patch on his eye? Most pirates have to wear a patch because, when fighting with swords, the tip of a sword pierced their eye, leaving a hole and blinding the eye. Pirates covered the blind eye with a black patch. But that’s actually not why Captain Patrick had to wear a patch.
One day there was a lady who was just awful. Kitty-Kitty pecked Captain Patrick on his bald head because Kitty-Kitty did not want him to talk to the lady. The captain angrily lifted the parrot onto his finger and yelled at the parrot with his face very close to the parrot’s face. This is something you should never do to a Parrot. Kitty-Kitty got a big fright and, in panic, just pecked and pecked. Sadly he pecked Captain Patrick’s eye so now Captain Patrick wears a patch.
You can tell your friends that it never pays to be bad. Often you just end up hurting yourself!
