Safari Unframed Art Print
There are so many pretty things to hang on your wall. The Safari Unframed Art Print matches the framed safari wall décor, the safari clock, the safari woven blanket and blends in well with all your other safari characters.
There is a special story to the picture on the Unframed Art Print.
One day, Humphrey Hippo got lost. At first it was Carol Crocodile who noticed. Humphrey was not wallowing in his usual place, wiggling his ears in the cool water. Carol needed to pass on a message to him from Lisa Leopard who was really mad at him. Humphrey had given her a fright the last time she came to the watering hole. As she bent her head to drink, Humphrey, who was under the water at that time, came up blowing big bubbles in a loud noise. Lisa Leopard got such a fright she ran away and spent the whole night thirsty.
Carol asked Leonard Lion if he had seen Humphrey. He hadn’t, so he asked Brian Bear who came lumbering down to the waterhole after a big meal of honey from a nearby beehive. Brian growled a short “No!” He doesn’t care much for Hippos anyway.
When they told Elton Elephant, he lifted his trunk in the air and gave a few blasts. It is a signal that Elton uses to warn Humphrey and his family that the elephants are coming down to the watering hole for a drink and a swim. When they hear it, the hippos are careful to leave enough room in the pool for the elephants to swim without bumping into the hippo families.
“That’s going to send him further away, not bring him back to us,” said Gloria Giraffe as she bowed her neck and slurped up gallons of water with her long tongue.
Teresa Tortoise slowly came out of the watering hole. She too had not seen Humphrey anywhere.
Zoe Zebra turned to Lisa Leopard and said: “You must have hurt his feelings with whatever you said when he gave you that fright. I’m sure he didn’t mean it. He probably didn’t know you were there.”
Lisa Leopard replied: “I know but I reacted in fright. I was very nasty to him. I wish we could learn to ask people questions before we say nasty things to them. If I had only asked him ‘Did you mean to give me such a fright?’ I would have given him time to say sorry and we would still be friends.”
We all hope he does come back.
