Mermaid Unframed Art Print
Olive lives on the floor of the sea, with her four beautiful, mermaid sisters. The five little mermaids love to look at photographs of their family. The gathering of such a large crowd of mermaids who all share the same warm affection for each other makes the little mermaid’s tails glow with joy. The five girls have always been troubled with the division among the other sea creatures on their reef. Why can’t everyone get along just as well as their big happy family? Each of the mermaids lie awake endless nights tossing and turning in a vicious mental turmoil over the bickering and anger their neighbors often display toward one another. During the middle of one particularly fretful evening, Olive decided enough was enough!
She and her sisters were going to change the attitude of the whole reef, no matter how long it took or how hard it was. Bright and early the next morning the little girls set out on their first big adventure, Olive leading the way. Her shiny deep blue-black, hair glistened as she wove her in-between long, gangly pieces of sea grass. The procession of her younger siblings followed Olive’s distinct pattern, swimming strong with a whole rainbow of different colored hair and outfits behind her. First, they encountered Lenny the crab arguing with Groover the sea turtle about how much sand they each could have to build up around their side of the reef. “Please stop all of this nonsense!” cried Olive, in a desperate attempt to quiet the shouts of the two fighting sea creatures. “There is plenty of sand for every animal in the ocean, if you two would stay calm for a moment you would be able to realize that you each can take as much as you want!” The turtle and the crab stared blankly at Olive for a second or two while the realization of this ingenious discovery finally dawned on them. “My word, you are completely correct!” gasped the turtle with a surprised grin. “I’m so sorry for fighting with you all of these years Lenny; I promise I will be nicer from now on.” “I promise the same,” said Groover. “Without a doubt, Olive you have saved us much wasted time, thank you.”
Olive and her sisters smiled with a satisfied expression, and set off to fix the next unnecessary disagreement they came across. The day continued in this same fashion, until the end came and Olive and her sisters had managed to make everyone on their reef happier, in one way or another. The five sisters were exhausted as they retreated to their bedroom, and opened their parent’s photo album once more. This time they flipped to the very last page which was blank. On this they inserted the one photo they took that they thought summed up their day. All five girls peered down at 5 beautiful faces all gleaming up at the camera with a happy sense of accomplishment.
