Turtle Framed Print

Let’s look at your Turtle framed print on the wall? What an interesting animal the turtle is. Turtles live in a tough, strong shell. They can pull their legs, head and tails inside the shell and it’s very hard to harm them. Turtle are quiet, harmless creatures. They don’t want to fight with anybody. They prefer to be left alone.

To have babies, turtles once a year find a beach with warm sand. They crawl out of the water and find a place in the sand to lay their eggs. They have to crawl quite far because they don’t want a place near the waves that might wash their eggs away.

Once momma turtle has laid her eggs, she leaves the sun and the sand to keep them warm. After a while, the baby turtles grow inside the eggs. When they are full grown babies, they crack the eggs open from the inside. The little things must now head for the sea as fast as they can.

Many birds and other creatures wait for all the eggs to hatch and for the baby turtles to start their race to the sea. The birds know that they cannot attack the turtle from the top because of its hard shell but they do know that the turtle is soft underneath. The birds attack and try to flip the baby turtle over.

Many turtles escape the birds and scurry to the sea. Those that make it, swim out to sea quickly where they grow to become giant sea turtles.

If you are ever on a boat in the sea with someone, keep your eyes open for a large rounded shell that comes to the surface. Usually you will see bubbles in the water as the turtle takes a breath. Please don’t chase or frighten the turtle. Remember that as a child the turtle was afraid enough as it made its race to the sea. It deserves to live a long, happy life.
