Are you an adventurer? Do you like to explore and find new things? Then you definitely need the Pirate’s Printed Rug on the floor in your room.
You might think that it looks like the pictures on the comforter on your bed, but the rug on the floor has a special magic. If you have a good imagination, you can step on each place on the rug, and can travel in your mind on an adventure story of your own.
If you have a friend sleeping over, or even your story teller, you don’t need to read about anything on the pirate’s printed rug. Instead, one of you should take turns in stepping on each place, and telling the other person what you can see in your mind as you go on an adventure.
Start at Wally the Whale. Why do you think that Wally the Whale is smiling? What’s he happy about? Does he know that there is treasure on the island in front of him?
Next, step on the sailing ship behind Wally. Why would the sailors on this ship be interested in treasure? Whose treasure are they trying to find? How did it get lost on an island?
Now visit Captain Percy, the friendly pirate captian who was left behind on an island by himself. Why was he left behind? What does he know about stolen treasure? Does he know where to find it? Whose treasure does he say it is?
Now, who’s on the red ship? Can you say why they are headed to the island to see Captain Percy?
What about the blue ship? Will this ship get to the island before any of the other ships? If they do, will they find the treasure in time? Will they get away before anyone else lands on the island? If they don’t, what will happen?
